Meet the founder
Denis Ankrah
Founder & Creative Director · Since 2014
Denis founded Visual Theory Films in Winnipeg in 2014 and works as both director and cinematographer on our productions. He shapes the story with you from the first idea, then lights and shoots it himself, so the person who plans your film is the one behind the camera.
Denis started out wanting to make documentary films. He bought his first camera and filmed anything and everything, then helped a friend with a music video and fell in love with the creative freedom of filmmaking. Word of mouth brought the next gig, and Visual Theory grew from there.
Today Visual Theory Films produces corporate films, commercials, nonprofit stories, event coverage, music videos and photography for clients across Winnipeg and Manitoba. We put our clients first and attribute our success to the long-lasting relationships we build with them.
Meet the team
Luc Danais
Editor / Photographer
Luc is our editor and photographer. On set, he handles photography for our projects, capturing stills that match the look of the film so your photos and video feel like they belong together.
Back in the edit, he takes the footage from the shoot and shapes it into the finished film, working through pacing, story and sound until every cut earns its place. He works closely with Denis from the first assembly to the final export, so the film you receive matches the one we planned together.
